Avoidstreet is founded in 2017 by Eduardo Leon (b. 1989, Peru/Italy). Leon has received his Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Advertising at the Accademia della Communicazione in Milan. He soon is drawn to the fashion world in which imaging is everything. As in fashion, where varied people together work towards an end product, he works with a different artistic team on each project. Leon acts as an archaeologist to research, archive, design and style garments that are doomed as waste. The work of Avoidstreet has been shown at City Prince/sses in Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2019), Higher xtn by Michele Rizzo at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (2019) and during Manifesta 11, Zürich (2016). It has been exhibited amongst others at Salzburger Kunstverein (2018), M HKA, Antwerp (2017) and the Biennale de Design Graphique, Chaumont (2017). Avoidstreet featured in Wallpaper* and the first issue of Press & Fold.
