With a striking pictorial style that draws from pop-art, comics and cartoons, I paint costumbrista scenes that capture the aesthetics and attitude of today's world, suggesting the true identity that hides behind the surface of relationships, as well as the growing infantilization of our society.
Using humor and irony, I approach the controversial issues that shape us as individuals and as a society: communication, relationships, fear and freedom. Behind each work, there is a message of doubt, fear and uncertainty, which questions how much truth there is in the image we project. The frustration and anxiety of the characters are camouflaged by forced smiles, plants, pets, decorations and prints of intense and strident colors.
