Claudio Barros was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1963. Painting is the language in which he preserves the traces and remnants of the aesthetic dialogues he had with his mentors, such as the artist Carlos Scliar, whom he met and lived with in Ouro Preto, where he resided between 1982 and 1984. Since 1985, he has been based in São Paulo, working as an art educator in the Educational Sector of the São Paulo International Biennial, in projects with the State Secretariat for Minors, in schools, and in various cultural and social projects involving courses and workshops. As an artist, he participates in collective and solo exhibitions. Among his most recent exhibitions are the 46th SARP, Ribeirão Preto Art Salon, in 2022, and the Vinhedo Art Salon, where he received the Acquisition Award in 2020.
