Eliane Matos was born in Santos and graduated in Fashion Design. She expanded her artistic skills with several courses in the field of Fine Arts. Her creative aesthetic construction stems from a spiritual perspective. Looking at the history of art, we see that Eliane is guided by painting as a process, sharing the need to express herself through the immediate and spontaneous act of painting. Notable representatives of this view of painting include Rothko, Pollock, and Newman in Action Painting, where gesture and brushstroke— or, in Eliane’s case, the finger—express more of themselves than any external meaning; the process of painting represents the content of the artwork. She uses mixed media techniques with acrylic paint, collages, and textile materials to express her poetry, which traverses the search for self-knowledge and the awakening of consciousness. These paths inspire her works with vibrant movements and colors. “I bring my colors to represent the energy that connects me with everything.” Intuitively, she often paints with her hands, immersing herself in her personal universe, rhythmically working with free forms and harmoniously matching colors. “The awakening of consciousness is a call that happens inwardly and not to the world. It is a solitary and lengthy process. Little by little, limits are transformed, barriers are dissolved, making way for a new world within oneself. Love is the foundation that sustains this new reality, attuning oneself to divine light, ready to leave behind old stories and emerging into the higher dimension of this spirituality, letting go of everything that no longer has meaning or purpose. From this new path arises a vision of oneself, bringing the certainty that our external world is merely a reflection of each person’s inner world.”
