Jean Duquoc is a French artist born in 1937 who lives & works in Belz, Brittany in France. In his work, we can see the skill with which he uses color, moving directly into the essential, in the force of the intensity of expression, becoming strikingly admirable in its rendering of living beauty. He often structures surfaces decoratively, playing curved and straight lines against each other, along with landscapes rendered by juxtaposing blocks of color surround-ed by black. Some may see this way of handling a landscape as an allusion to the Pont-Aven School, with which it is often compared.
