Katika was born in Hungary in 1989. At the age of 4 she moved with her family to Russia. Her creative path began at age 7. Katika uses crochet and hand-dyed yarn as her main medium. She works with themes of the sacred, popular, and erotic. The artist engages the viewer in a dialogue through themes, materials, and techniques. Katika imbues her works with qualities of the familiar, everyday, and "cozy" object, reducing the distance between the viewer and the artwork. Currently based in Moscow and works at CCA Winzavod.
