Born in Gifu, Japan in 1986, Kazuki Takemura, graduated from master's course of Aichi University of Education Graduate School in 2011 and Kyoto Ceramics Training Center in 2012, has already received several art prizes, including Encouragement Prize of the 46th Asahi Ceramic Competition in 2008, the Grand Prize of Kobe Biennale Contemporary Ceramic Art Competition in 2009, etc. His works are geometric forms, but they have many organic elements. He shapes the clay growing like a living thing. While feeling the delicacy of clay, it stretches thin in the hand. There is no design drawing. In the boundary between the inevitable form for clay to be formed as a structure and the one he wants to express, he flexibly makes it while interacting with clay.
