My name is Laurence OEILLET and I'm sixty-eight years old. I used to work in the aeronautical industry. A few years ago, I took drawing classes, which are very useful for sketching my paintings.
I'm a self-taught painter; the arts are part of my life's journey as a young retiree, painting and creating jewelry. My painting speaks of my places of memory and my travels.
By superimposing colors, I recreate atmospheres, letting my brushes guide me. When my compositions are not entirely imagined, I like to draw inspiration from elements taken from photographs, which I use and modify as I work.
For the past two years, I've been taking oil painting classes to improve my technique at the École des Artistes du Chesnay. I'm a perfectionist, so I try to paint with precision and don't hesitate to "redo" if I'm not satisfied.
I don't have a particular theme, but I often like to include a female character in my paintings. I only use linen stretchers.
