Lee Yu Min is a Korean artist, who was born in 1987. She currently lives and works in Daejeon, South Korea. She is specialized in Korean painting and she completed her doctoral studies in this particular field. Her works is characterized by Eastern philosophy, utilizing negative space and emptiness to convey her artistic vision. In her paintings, she captures the gentle transitions of the seasons with warmth and the expansive skies, which seem to be vacant, are filled with imaginative possibilities. The realization of small people and objects in her work have a deeper meaning, symolizing our minor presence in the vast universe. In her paintings, she uses warm pastel colors, reflecting her perception of the world as a comforting place. In her universe and imaginary, the sky represents a space for thought, stars symbolize hope, and the moon grants wishes. The animals that the viewer can discover in her paintings, like dogs and cats, are based on real-life animals. Interesting is the presence of the girl who appears in her works, because she represents the viewer. Lee Yu Min desires to express her art and intimate universe in a literary and poetic manner, hoping that everyone finds comfort and solace, observing her works.
