Mateo Cohen, a colombian artist born in Bogotá in 1981, is a visual artist who has made a mark on the contemporary scene with his innovative approach to painting and material. He graduated with a degree in fine arts from the University of Los Andes in 2004 and continued his studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin, where he obtained the title of Meisterschüler in 2012. Since 2002, Mateo has exhibited regularly in various galleries and museums across Latin America and Europe, participating in both solo and group exhibitions. His work, characterized by an apparent abstraction, invites the viewer to question the traditional notion of painting, focusing on the material construction of his pieces. Through exhibitions such as Hauptsache Grau #2 in Berlin and Still Life for White Walls in the Netherlands, he has sparked reflections on the material reality of art. Mateo lives and works in Bogotá, where he continues to explore new forms of expression that challenge the conventions of the medium. He lives and works in Bogotá.
