Originally from both Congo (Brazzaville and Kinshasa), Nelson MAZ was born on October 5, 1989. He has been living in France since 2011 and currently resides in the town of Saint-Rémy-l'Honoré, in the Yvelines region. Passionate about drawing since childhood, he began by creating "selected pieces": a notebook filled with recitations in which he had to create representative drawings for each recitation to memorize and recite in front of a jury. Subsequently, he would reproduce certain images he saw on TV while watching cartoons or African theater, observing everything around him, at home, at school, etc. His drawings were dynamic with extremely vivid colors, often tinted with humor as they caricatured scenes from everyday life and current events; It was his way of entertaining but also sensitizing his admirers. This continues to this day. He has never taken classes or studied art. He simply has this DNA in him. It's a gift! He perfects himself every day by drawing inspiration from other artists such as Pablo Picasso, Jean Paul Mika, Yared Nigussu, Amoako Boafo, and J.M. Robert. By observing the works of different artists and watching art-focused videos on YouTube, he discovered drawing techniques that led him to create photo portraits, first in black and white and then in color. His work is based primarily on various strands of thoughts, feelings, memories, and boundless imagination, covering a wide spectrum of materials, techniques, media, and styles, pretext to painting that will be very difficult to define. This has earned him the nickname "the artist with multiple facets".
