Noa Yekutieli was born in 1989 to a Japanese and an Israeli in the USA and grew up in Israel. Today she lives and works in California.
In her work, Noa Yekutieli explores the origins of narratives. The instruments and media she uses for this could hardly be more different: paper cutting and installation as well as drawing and photography. Yekutieli's engagement with the deconstruction and construction of narratives takes place through her very specific technique of dismantling and assembly.
Her work has been shown at the 14th A.I.R Biennale, NYC; The Shanghai Himalayas Museum, China; Augsburg Kunstverien, Germany; The Israel Museum, Israel; Changjiang Museum of Contemporary Art, China; Eretz Israel Museum, Israel; The Israeli-Palestinian Pavilion, Nakanojo Biennale, Japan; Open Contemporary Art Center, Taiwan; Janco Dada Museum, Israel; Artist House, Israel; and at the Wilfrid Museum, Israel. Yekutieli held solo exhibitions in various galleries such as Gordon Gallery, Tel Aviv, Israel; Track 16 Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Gisela Clement, Bonn, Germany; Marina Gisich Gallery, St. Petersburg, Russia, and Galerie Sabine Knust, Munich, Germany.
She is a recipient of the Sommer Frische Knust residency in Austria; the Taipei Artists Village; the Gottesman Etching Center Residency in Israel; Reciprocity, Asylum Arts, Los Angeles, California; and the Fundacao Atre e Cultura in Luanda Angola.
Yekutieli received the Young International Artist award by OUTSET and the Israeli Lottery Council grant. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art, The Marrakech Museum for Photography and Visual Arts, and various international private collections.
