Graphite on Archival Paper, COA provided This drawing explores what it means to be a "lightmaker", in a literal and surreal sense. Connecting and working with community is an important part of my artistic practice, and being a "lightmaker" is an interesting concept to consider. Joy, laughter, and uniqueness are all important parts of resistance.

Brittany Noriega is an emerging contemporary artist, a community organizer, a lifelong learner, and a lover of humanity. She is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the connectedness in visual art and emotion through large-scale, detailed, and otherworldly works. Brittany is a Kansas City native but spent much of her youth traveling the globe and collecting experiences. These experiences shaped her beliefs, her love of people, and continue to influence her work today. Brittany studied studio art and sociology in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is currently studying Health Science and how the arts affect our bodies and minds.
