Né en 1962 au pied des majestueuses Pyrénées, Daniel Perreu est un sculpteur dont l’histoire et le talent se confondent avec la matière qu’il travaille : l’acier. Dès son plus jeune âge, il s’initie à la manipulation du métal, une passion instinctive qui devient la trame de son existence. Formé dans la tradition exigeante des Compagnons du Tour de France, il parcourt la France pendant sept ans, acquérant une maîtrise technique exceptionnelle et une vision enrichie par le savoir-faire des maîtres artisans qu’il côtoie. Après des années passées à diriger une entreprise de métallerie spécialisée, où il met en œuvre des projets d’une grande complexité technique, Daniel Perreu ressent à l’aube de la cinquantaine un besoin impérieux : celui de se reconnecter à une expression plus personnelle et artistique. Il décide alors de réinventer son parcours en explorant pleinement la sculpture, faisant de l’acier, son matériau de prédilection, le cœur de sa démarche créative. Cette transition marque le début d’une nouvelle vie d’artiste, forgée avec la même rigueur et la même passion qui l’ont guidé tout au long de sa carrière. ------ Born in 1962 at the foot of the majestic Pyrenees, Daniel Perreu is a sculptor whose history and talent merge with the material he works: steel. From a very young age, he was introduced to the manipulation of metal, an instinctive passion which became the framework of his existence. Trained in the demanding tradition of the Compagnons du Tour de France, he traveled across France for seven years, acquiring exceptional technical mastery and a vision enriched by the know-how of the master craftsmen he worked with. After years spent running a specialized metalwork company, where he implemented projects of great technical complexity, Daniel Perreu felt at the dawn of his fifties a compelling need: to reconnect with a more personal and artistic. He then decided to reinvent his career by fully exploring sculpture, making steel, his favorite material, the heart of his creative approach. This transition marks the beginning of a new life as an artist, forged with the same rigor and passion that guided him throughout his career.
