Acrylic and spray paint on canvas
1983 Valencia, Spain
David Sánchez is a Spanish artist. He was born in 1983 in Valencia and started doing graffiti as SEB when he was 13 years old. His work is about contemporary visual ecosystems and how records of deconstruction coexist with the purity of straight lines. Sánchez evokes a spirit in his research and prospecting work. He insatiably seeks the consequence of the construction processes more than the process itself, where he coexists with the gesture and the imprint. And perhaps because of his beginnings in graffiti, he has a great sensitivity for color and chromatic richness. He pays special attention to the composition and nothing is left to chance, of course, never with a prior sketch, he addresses an idea directly on the format and then begins to form it through layers as if it were Photoshop. In his studio in Valencia, his creations are meticulously cared for and you can see how he constantly questions the limits of format and material. In his latest solo-project Y N G R A V I T Y in the La Mercería gallery the artist shows sensory atmospheres through records on different planes. In the room you can vibrate with the sensation produced by the methacrylate, similar to that produced by diving into the sea with transparent water (explains the artist).
