Erte (1892 – 1990, Russian/French) “An Evening in 1922” - Limited Edition polychrome cold-painted hand cast bronze sculpture, using the lost wax process, with hand applied patination and embellishments, incised with the artist’s signature, numbered 202/250, Fine Art Acquisitions, Copyright stamp, and 1980. Measures 17 x 8 x 8 inches. A woman stands on a three-tiered hexagon shaped base wearing a green toned dress with an ornate belt and embellishment. One hand rests on her hip and the fingers of her other hand gently touch her lips.

Romain de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 – 21 April 1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erté, from the French pronunciation of his initials RT (pronounced: [ɛʁ.te]). He was a diversely talented 20th-century artist and designer who flourished in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theater, opera, and interior decor.
