Mujeres en la Ventana (Women in the Window)

Francisco Zuniga (1912 – 1998, Costa Rican-Mexican) “'Mujeres en la Ventana” (Women in the Window) is a 1977 limited edition lithograph on Copperplate Deluxe paper printed by Kyron, S.A., Mexico, D.F.  It is blind-stamped, numbered 44/50, signed and dated “Zuniga 1977” in the lower left.  The sheet measures 21 x 27.5 inches, and with mat and frame, the work of art is 25.5 x 32 inches.  Literary reference:   Illustrated and documented as Plate 31 in "Zuñiga The Complete Graphics" by Jerry Brewster.  This lot is in overall good condition with a minor crease in the upper right corner of the paper.

Zuniga was a noted Mexican painter and sculptor best known for his nude figural works favoring full-figured female peasants native to Central America.
