Born in the Argentinian Patagonia, Gonzalo Elvira (Neuquén, Patagonia, Argentina, b. 1971) has lived and worked in Barcelona since 2000. He trained at the Antonio Berni School of Visual Arts in Buenos Aires and began his exhibition career in 1993. He currently combines his artistic practice with his teaching activity in different educational projects. In the last five years he has made several solo and group exhibitions in Spain, Argentina, Andorra, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, at several museums, galleries, fairs and research institutions.
In recent years his works have been acquired by various public and private collections such as DKV Foundation (Valencia), Jose Luis Lorenzo Collection, Córdoba (Argentina), Paula Acevedo Collection (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Mauricio Kassim Collection (Colombia), M.A. Collection Sanchez (Barcelona), Martín Almagro Museum (Albarracín), Juan Sanchez Museum (Patagonia, Argentina), Alon Foundation (Buenos Aires), Port of Tarragona Museum (Tarragona), among others.
