Portable sculpture in the shape of a felt and glass necklace.
, Latvia
Felt as a sculptural element is the basis on which his imaginary is built, through one of the oldest forms of obtaining textile material already existing in prehistoric times, even before the invention of weaving. It combines the ancient tradition of felting that exists in many Asian and Nordic peoples with a futuristic design in the biopunk style, a concept that develops the idea of a future world, where supported by scientific discoveries, humanity becomes a harmonious part of the biosphere.
His pieces combine contemporaneity and tradition, together with natural elements inserted, such as wood or glass. Charged with symbolism, he tries to convey to the viewer a version of the history of humanity in which nothing is superfluous, where it is necessary to rediscover a balance between man and nature.
