Larry Zox was a prolific abstract expressionist artist who focused on collage, shape and color. Beginning in 1958 he lived in New York and worked primarily from his studio on 20th Street that was a gathering place for artists, jazz musicians, bikers, and boxers. Later, he had a studio in East Hampton on Long Island where he also liked to go fishing. The word “Bonac” may refer to Accabonac Harbor, a secluded stretch of water near the town of Springs on Long Island and refers to residents of East Hampton.
