The work of Lenneke van der Goot includes large and small drawings, murals and (site-specific) installations. Her work process is characterised by a combination of unforeseen and controlled actions, zooming in and out on apparently constructed objects and dysfunctional structures in construction site-like environments. She captures them in a moment, as if they were still different just now or are about to transform or change colour. Van der Goot creates a world that we do not immediately recognise as reality, but which in a certain way refers to it. Floor plans, signposts, building plans and landmarks are the starting point, mixed with patterns and grids that emerge from what you might call an emotional structure.
