Lillian is an abstract painter based om the west coast of Sweden. She is a self-taught artist and have been painting almost her entire life. Over the years she has been trying a lot of medias but for now the favorite is acrylic, mixed media and sometimes watercolors. To create is almost like breathing for her. If you hold your breath too long it will be unbearable, holding from art was like that for her. For a couple of years there was no time for creativity and no room for Lillian at all. Then one day the urge to paint was overwhelming and despite the situation with really bad health and lack of energy she started to paint again. And that was very liberating! At that time, she also needed to change her way of painting. The previous process included sketching and total control of all details in the figurative motifs. Now she felt she had to break free from control and play more loosely with the colors. The process today is very intuitive and often starts with modelling paste to add structure to the surface of the canvas. After that a darker layer that will shine through the following layers. In the end all this layers creates an interesting surface and depth in the painting that you will discover when you look closely.
