“Conversation Piece III”, 2018, is a drawing composition of 28 sheets of paper, A4, displayed juxtaposed on the wall, and without frame. This work is part of the most recent project “Conversation Piece”, in which, using different technics and materials, Maria José Cavaco evoques the History of Painting and, at the same time, represents "her territory", offering these drawings/objects to the viewer´s fruition. Besides the colours and the lines, the viewer can also be surprised by literary phrases as footers in some works. The title “Conversation Piece“ refers to the group portraits, popular in the XVIII century, where figures are represented interacting in informal situations, frequently in gardens.
