1965 Žilina, Slovakia
Successful photographer Milan Krupcik was born on September 5, 1965 in Žilina. He graduated from the Department of Polygraphy-Photography CHTF SVŠT in Bratislava. Already while at school, he took photos for the then weekly newspaper Mladé rozlety and the daily Smena. After graduating from the university, he joined the editorial staff of the Slovenské denník. He worked in the weekly magazines Zmena, Nedeľná Pravda, Plus 7 dni and the daily Nový čas. During the periods when he worked as a freelance journalist, he collaborated with almost all Slovak magazines and newspapers. Let's mention, for example, Kankán, Meow, Život, Slovenka, Šarm, Rodina, Markíza and others. In 2000, he photographed the Slovak edition of the musical Grease, from which he exhibited photographs. He exhibited photographs of folklore twice. He photographed the phenomenon of folklore systematically from 1991 to 1996. The author was brought to photograph this phenomenon by his sister and friends from FS Stavbár in Žilina. As he says, the most beautiful thing about folklore was the spontaneity and joy of the people who met at the events. They were beautiful years that enriched him and gave him a lot. After 2010, folklore started taking photos again. In 1996, 1998 and 1999, he photographed actors at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. He took a collection of photographs from Egypt. For more than ten years, he mapped the performances of the Allegro stage dance ensemble. For a year, he photographed basketball matches of the Euroleague of the Slovak champion SCP Ružomberok. He exhibited photos of basketball in Ružomberok during the national team tournament. Since 1999, he has been photographing for the marketing department of TV Markíza. From 2005 to 2012, he photographed most of the campaigns, serials, and TV programs for this television. He has been cooperating with STV/RTVS since 2004. In the television industry, he considers the cooperation on TV films and series with cameraman Lac Kraus and directors Stanislav Párnicky and Martin Kákoš most important. As he says, he always likes to take reportage, PR and advertising photos in any corner of Slovakia, because these are impulses in creation.
