Nino Trindade was born in 1982 in Maputo, Mozambique. As a child, he began creating white sand drawings with the guidance of local artists near the school he attended. Later he moved in with his uncle, a sculptor, where he took up sculpting as a regular activity, honing his skills. In 1998, he ventured into wood carving. He participated in craft fairs where he showcased and sold his creations. He pursued his undergraduate studies in Visual Arts at the Higher Institute of Arts and Culture (ISARC) in Maputo from 2002 to 2016. He is currently pursuing a Master degree in Multimedia Design (2023-2025) at the Faculty of Engineering, Pedagogical University of Mozambique. Trindade was awarded for his wood sculpting technique in the TDM Biennial in Maputo, Mozambique, in 2011, and since then he has been noticed by curators and art critics who have interviewed him and written about his practice. His works are being held in private collections in countries such as France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Southern Africa, America, the Netherlands, Cameroon, as well as in his own country.
