Serigrafia Blue lacquered frame with blue velvet background. 21 x 15 cm ( 8.3 x 6 inches). Unframed 27 x 22 cm (10.6 x 8.6 inches). Framed Contemporary relationships are built, managed, and stored through our mobile devices, which can lead us to consider these devices as an active part of our organism, that is, a bodily extension of intimate moments and human relationships. Gradually, we have come to accept the exchange of this sensitive information through free and convenient messaging or hyperconnectivity services that simultaneously transform aspects of human life into computational data. Through this process, known as datafication, large domains of social actions become susceptible to real-time tracking and predictive analysis, transforming intimacy into value and leading us to a tiered system where qualitative awareness of our emotional relationships is flattened by a quantifiable accumulation of data. There is a widespread belief in datafication as an objective reflection of human behavior. However, the algorithm employed is inherently selective and manipulative, as it identifies patterns of behavior or activities based on the data that is unconsciously left behind every time we interact with our mobile devices. These data are used to predict future behavior by grouping them into a specific number of profiles. And this is the key word: predict. A prediction is an assumption, a hypothesis… So, to what extent do users let themselves be carried away by what they are supposedly interested in in a more or less immediate future, perpetuating a system in which their free will is conditioned by the decision of a digital agent, an algorithmic combination, and to what extent are these data really reliable and faithfully reflect the personality and tastes of each one? Something like the horoscope, which interprets our personality and future tendency based on a series of data such as, in this case, the position of the stars at the time of our birth. Do all Aries have an extroverted and impatient personality? Do the interpretations of what a specific sign is and will be like cover a real spectrum of personality, or are they statements that can be randomly considered true? It is against this background that the production of the piece Dat - Astral Chart is based on, a random prediction machine that brings together 12 types of personalities based on the digital behaviour of users.

An artist who defines herself through sculptural media and long-term performance formats, Noemi is a clear example of contemporary nomadism. Since 2009, she has lived and worked in Greece, England, Belgium, Hungary, China, and Korea. In 2019, she earned a Master's degree in Porcelain from the Tainan National University of the Arts, where she studied contemporary ceramic practices, thanks to the ROC Taiwan Scholarship from the Taiwanese Government. Recently, she was awarded the “Maria de Salamanca” National Engraving Prize from the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving and the Unicaja Foundation Prize for Crafts. Her work has been exhibited at notable institutions, including the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, DG Connect of the European Commission, iMAL Center for Digital Culture and Technologies in Brussels, the Electron Festival in Switzerland, the Gimhae Clayarch Museum in Korea, the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art in Japan, the Yingge Ceramics Museum and the MOCA in Taiwan, the LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, and the Galería Espacio Líquido in Gijón. Her work has been featured in major publications such as ABC, Libération, China Times, Elemmental, and Arte al Límite. Currently, Noemi is researching processes of extraction and urban recycling of cobalt within the sculpture department of the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon thanks to a grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) of Portugal. This project is also being supported by the “Culture moves Europe” scholarship program, the Cultural and Scientific Council of the Embassy of Spain in Belgium, and the PXL-MAD University in Hasselt. In 2024, she had her first solo exhibition “Love me Fast” at the Museo Nacional Thyssen Bornemisza in Madrid, curated by Rocío de la Villa, as well as at the Museum of Fine Arts in Asturias, where she will inaugurate Landscapes of Affection in December.
