Orna Bromberg (b. 1955, Israel) UNTITLED – Three Blue Women (1991) Color crayon drawing on paper with the date and the artist's signature on the verso. The sheet measures 21.25 x 16.5 inches and has been matted and placed in a 24.25 x 18.25-inch metal frame. Featured on the top portion of the piece are three women drawn in shades of blue against a yellow background splashed with green butterflies. On the bottom portion, Bromberg has drawn a man and a woman in shades of gray set against a salmon-colored background and highlighted with magenta roses. Provenance: Michael Hittleman Gallery Los Angeles.
Orna Bromberg's work has been exhibited in Israel since 1985. Her style is identified with children's drawings: colorful repetitions and images of little girls, crowns and flowers, butterflies, birds, trees, and clowns. Her use of vivid colors and seemingly incongruent placement of them may be seen; for example: red next to orange, and orange next to pink.
