Pavla Outlá has been into fine arts since childhood. Her first experiences with painting and drawing were passed on to her by her father and she further developed her skills at an art school in the city of Olomouc. Her artistic activity continued at the Department of Art Education at Training College in Olomouc. When she left the school, she brought her love for clay, ceramics and art along into her life. She felt the urge to create her own coffee mug and so she began studying at the ceramics school in Kohoutov. After graduation, she set up a ceramic studio and named it TAWA - which in the Hopi Indian language, means SUN. For a long time she was engaged in utility ceramics: creating mugs, bowls, teapots, plates, etc. with motifs of the Hopi Indians. After some time she gradually approached to larger, interior and exterior sculptures. At first she created realistic angels, desiring to capture their different facial expressions. In the next life stage she encountered a lot of good and evil, so she began to express these two opposing phenomena in her art work creating angels in the interaction with the devil (in their arms, under their arms, on a chain, over their shoulders, ... etc.). Recently she started creating angels with a story and various sculptures inspired by nature. This way she expresses her experiences, feelings, beauty and originality of nature. She works with fireclay and uses different types of patinas and glass. She loves the rawness of the clay to stand out. Currently she also creates ornamental tiles where she combines coarse fireclay and fine raw porcelain.
