Linda Pendeza Katungu, known as Pelinda, is an artist born in 1975 in Kinshasa in the DRC. She has a state diploma in “cutting and sewing” option. Driven by a taste for painting in 1996, she enrolled in an artistic course at the “Village artsitique du Zoo” for self-taught artists.
Pelinda's artistic work is inspired by the observation of the daily life of children and women in the society in which she operates. She also finds her sources of inspiration in dreams. As a committed artist, through her artistic work she denounces the situation of children and women in the context of permanent war in which the DRC has found itself for several years. In an ecological approach, she will use recycled materials (fabric coupons, wood, metal, etc.) as complementary tools to create her works.
