Li Qing-Yan is a Chinese artist born in 1972 who lives and works in Beijing, China. She studied at Beijing Shi Qi Art Institute. She is a member of China Imagery Oil Painting Association. Inspired by folk art and modern literature, Li’s ink art paintings explore people’s restless state in the consumerism society. Rejecting traditional modeling or perspectival illusion, her works are characterized by thinned layer of paint, loose gestural brushworks, varied shades of color which relied on randomness and spontaneity. The artist endowed her subjectivity with different images that evoke spectators’ imaginations meanwhile. Her major art exhibitions include the Dahewan Art Museum in Beijing in 2016, Sunshine Art Museum in Beijing in 2017, 2018 & 2019, Shan He Art Museum in Beijing in 2016 & Shi Qi Art Museum in Beijing in 2021.
