Alima Rite was born in Nesher and grew up in Kiryat Haim. In 1961, after studying at the Avni Art Institute, she moved to Paris. When she returned to Israel in 1965, she developed an abstract painting style employing strong colors, geometric shapes and minimalism. During this period, she joined the Ten Plus group. In the 1970s, silk screen printing became her major artistic medium. She also taught silk screen printing and established a silk screen workshop at the Zaritsky Artists House in Tel Aviv-Yafo. In her final years, she returned to painting, creating large canvases in shades of black.
