Samar Mogharbel was born in Beirut in 1958, and was initially trained in ceramics under Dorothy Salhab Kazemi, before pursuing a postgraduate diploma in ceramics at Goldsmiths College, London. An instructor in ceramics at the Lebanese American University since 1983, Mogharbel has also been involved in the post-war excavations of downtown Beirut which greatly influenced much of her work. Samar Mogharbel was awarded a special mention in the Salon d'Automne at the Sursock Museum, the first prize of the Sursock Museum in 2006 and the silver plaque at the Zagreb Clay Fest in Croatia.
Her work has been showcased in solo exhibitions in Beirut, a major exhibition at the Millesgarden Museum in Sweden and group exhibitions in Lebanon, Croatia, France and the UAE. "Without Traces" is Samar Mogharbel's second solo exhibition at Agial Art Gallery.
