Schälling | Enderle are a german artist couple who collaborate since 1992 on most of their works. They are Doris Schälling ( born 1956) and Jörg Enderle (born 1956). They are currently living and working in Liege, Belgium.
The subtle language that emanates from the work of Schälling | Enderle is based on examining the concept of sculpture itself, questioning established European traditional views of art. Seeing sculpture as more than a work of reduction and pleasing proportions, it has the potential to take us beyond our limited ideas of place, culture, time and the nature of matter. In their works they emphasize questions of appreciation and value of materials and how the transformation, adaptation and processing of natural resources changes our perception of them.
Their works are shown in public spaces in: Beijing (CN), TODAY ART MUSEUM, Nanao (JAP), Kojima KOUEN, City Park, Larvik (NOR), Stålaker Sculpture Park, Dresden (DE), Messegelände Ostragehege, Külsheim (DE), Stadteingang West, Berlin (DE), Kunst am Bau, Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin
