The artist Simon Halfmeyer (*1974) from Düsseldorf undertakes a conceptual examination of the dialectic of unspoiled nature and nature designed by human beings. With clear ink lines, he outlines buildings and reduces architectural details to abstract structures. He juxtaposes these elements of the urban world with graphically implied, exotic, uncontrolled growth. Halfmeyer’s works push genres and formats. He uses various media, creates paper and wall works, collages and objects, in which he makes the different dimensions become fluid. The publication provides insight into this space of experience through expanding and exploring the medium of drawing.
