SONIC BAD aka Sonic (Jesse Rodriguez, b. 1961 USA) ‘Sonic’ (2018) Original acrylic and spray paint on a large canvas by one of the pioneers of graffiti street art. The unique work of art is 35 x 59 inches on a stretch frame, signed in the lower right as well as hand signed and dated on verso. Featured in this boldly colored image are graffiti letters spelling out ‘SONIC’, and the initials ‘NYC’ in the lower left.
In his career, Sonic has painted colorful graffiti/Hip Hop images on NYC subway cars, trains, wall murals, video games, canvas, and in the fashion industry. His work has been photographed and featured in books, magazines, movies; shown in galleries worldwide, and a 1982 spray paint on canvas piece is in the collection of the Museum of Graffiti in Miami.
