About the work

Penrider creates this work called Mystery with graphite and pastel on paper. Specialized in pencil drawing, my art is about describing mysterious atmospheres through delicate blurs, with a surreal and dark theme through which I want to represent dreams and feelings. I am interested in the loneliness of the misunderstood, I love nature, animals and outer space. I always try to tell a little story with an ending open to different interpretations to involve the viewer. Having gained some visibility and helped by social media, I have participated in different collective exhibitions culminating in my first solo exhibition at the Haven Gallery in New York.

For this series of pieces, the artist has been inspired by the interior of the human being, by those monsters that we all have inside us and that haunt, afflict and block us. Thus, greed, guilt, insecurity, boredom, obsession with beauty or the past are examples of real monsters that torment us and prevent us from moving forward.
