1993 Svitavy, Czech Republic

The author Věra Kosová was born in 1993 in the small district town of Svitavy, where she currently also lives and works. Since childhood, she gravitated towards creative activities, she attended an art club for a short time, but with the arrival of her studies at the high school of economics, she completely stopped her artistic development. However, the study of economics, accounting and tax laws did not give her what she expected and she began to fall into depression. Despite her distaste for and lack of interest in this field, she successfully passed the high school graduation exam and subsequently started working for a retail chain. However, she did not find fulfillment even there, her depression worsened and her cure for it became a bottle (or bottles) of alcohol. She very quickly fell into a strong addiction and after several drunken years and an abstinence collapse, she found herself in the hands of psychiatrists. Paradoxically, psychiatry became her art school. Part of the treatment was art therapy, during which she remembered her dreams and her passion. An art therapist became her guide and artistic guru, who constantly pushed her further and began to develop her talent again. After several successful and unsuccessful exhibitions in her hometown and its surroundings, she suddenly found herself in Prague with her work. But she recorded greater success abroad, mainly in Belgium and Italy. She was awarded several times by the Bruxelles Art Vue foundation for her artistic merits, and her paintings are still part of its catalogs and one of her art albums. She also took home artistic awards from Italy, e.g. International Prize Pegasus for the Arts, curated by Francesco Saverio Russo and Salvatore Russo, and became part of the art album Contemporary Celebrity Masters Vol. III. Recently, her work has also appeared in the international magazine Artist Close Up #10 and one of her works is placed on the wall of an outdoor gallery in her hometown among other local artists. Declaration My work is generally based on the power of emotions, and it is precisely the human face on which emotions are clearly visible. It is not for nothing that they say that the eyes are the window to the soul. By using only two basic colors, I give the observer space to focus on the facial expression itself and absorb the atmosphere of the picture. The purpose of my work is to remind people what is important in life. In today's digital world, influenced by property and power, basic values such as love, friendship, family, health or helping one's neighbor are often forgotten and people forget to be human. At the same time, I want to emphasize the power of women with my work. For me personally, every woman is special and it is she who abounds with incredible psychic strength and at the same time is so sensitive and vulnerable. She is a woman who hides so many emotions that we often don't even know about. When you look at my paintings, you may immediately understand what, or rather, who was my main inspiration, my muse and driving engine. It wasn't an artist or a designer, it was the Belgian-Italian singer and lady with a beautiful silky voice, Lara Fabian, who for me is a kind of symbol of humanity, femininity, love, strength and hope. Thanks to her music and her approach to life, I found the right sober path full of love and humility, and that's why my work also became a kind of expression of gratitude to this lady.
