Materials: Metal, leather Maps of Stars is an interpretation of cosmic order and chaos, where the textured metal surface reveals an infinite universe. The weathered and timeworn texture resembles ancient celestial maps, with glowing points becoming stars—eternal witnesses of our cosmos. The geometric grid imposes structure, as if attempting to chart and comprehend what is inherently boundless. This piece invites the viewer to reflect on the infinity of the universe, the passage of time, and humanity’s place in the cosmos. It is a meditation on the interplay between matter and spirit, between knowledge and mystery.

1961 , Lithuania

The artist graduated from Kaunas Palemonas Gymnasium and attended Kaunas Children's Art School. Later, they earned a degree in primary education and crafts teaching from Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute. For five years, the artist worked in the studio of sculptor Kęstutis Balčiūnas. During this time, they gradually developed their own creative voice, focusing on woodworks such as crosses, chapels, and caring figures. They have participated in the Klepočiai Art Plenary in Dzūkija, which allowed for further artistic growth and exploration. The artist's perspective on visual art and style was significantly influenced by extended years of work abroad in London and Copenhagen. These experiences, where they contributed to the realization of other artists’, architects’, and designers’ ideas, played a key role in shaping their creative process. Nature and the remnants of human activity—such as details from old furniture, frames, and metalwork—are the primary sources of inspiration. This artist has exhibited their work for two years, with seven exhibitions held in cities such as Kaunas, Marijampolė, Alytus, Vilkaviškis, and Birštonas.
