Wayne Ensrud (b. 1934, USA) “La Plage at Collioure, France” (The Beach) (1989) is a 30 x 40-inch acrylic painting on canvas by the well-known and multi-talented painter, art director, animator, and art teacher. This original work is signed and dated “Ensrud 89” in the lower left. The artist describes it as, 'A beloved village on the French Mediterranean, Collioure's beach is a joyful sight. Full of bathers, children and generations of families who congregate under the bright Mediterranean sunlight, it's cradled by the Pyrenees Mountains on one side and the sea on the other which creates an exceptionally uplifting beach scene.' This painting is a vivid interpretation of the summer land- and seascape of this harbor/beach/anchovy-fishing town in bright tones of blue, yellow and magenta.
