"Ashore the Sea of Peril" in the "Water in Motion" collection is an original encaustic painting by San Diego Artist Shima Shanti in the medium of Encaustic. Layers of purified beeswax mixed with all-natural earth pigments and fir-tree sap called damar resin are painted on Russian Baltic birch panel then fused with the flame of a torch.
