Paper positions berlin wants this special genre to be focused on. The galleries and their artists are given a presentation opportunity, which is dedicated to the subject of drawing and the medium of paper with all its specific features, its fragility and its enormous versatility. In the spirit of its fair concept, which refrains from classic booths and is completely tailor-made for the most sensitive exhibits, paper positions berlin deliberately focuses on a salon-like situation. The limited number of exhibitors also underlines the character of a large theme-based exhibition. The spatial design offers an open overview as well as the possibility to directly approach individual artistic works and to perceive them in a mutual dialogue.
Together with .rka Rechtsanwälte Hamburg/Berlin, paper positions berlin 2020 presents the paper positions award for the second time. The award honours an outstanding contemporary position on the subject of drawing and the medium of paper and includes a special presentation in the following year. First awarded artist was Hell Gette (2019).
Special hygiene and safety measures will certainly still be required in September. As the most obvious measure, we will be using a further hangar this year in order to comply with the necessary distance rules. Please note that all visitors must wear a mask. Each guest must leave their contact details on site. We ask for your understanding that we will take non-contact measurements of the body temperature at the entrance. In addition, we are developing digital formats which we will integrate into the classic fair schedule in order to continue and guarantee our international reach and provide visitors with virtual access to the fair.
