British-Egyptian ceramic artist celebrated for his hand-built vessels and sculptural forms that emphasize purity of form, surface, and proportion. Initially trained in theatre design at Central Saint Martins, Hanna later turned to ceramics, earning a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art. His works, often created using coiling and slab-building techniques, explore the expressive potential of volume and void, with a focus on surface textures achieved through smoke firing, terra sigillata, and burnishing. His vessels, both functional and abstract, have been exhibited internationally and are held in the permanent collections of major institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Fitzwilliam Museum.
