Byun Kyung-Sup is a South Korean artist born in 1957, currently based in Gwangju. She studied painting at the College of Fine Arts, Hongik University in Seoul, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1980. Her work is characterized by meticulous dot patterns that reflect her experience as a seamstress during her time in the United States. These dots, reminiscent of stitches, form meditative compositions exploring themes of labor, devotion, and personal history. Byun’s art has been exhibited internationally and is held in various private and public collections.
