Christoph Schrein is a German abstract painter based in Leipzig, known for his luminous, wave-like compositions that explore the interplay of color, light, and spatial illusion. Born in Fulda in 1980, he studied at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in the Netherlands, graduating in 2007. Schrein’s work often involves painting on unconventional surfaces such as glass or aluminum, layering translucent pigments to create dynamic, flowing forms that evoke a sense of movement and depth. Influenced by minimalism and generative art, his paintings invite viewers into contemplative spaces where perception and emotion converge.
