Gabriela Albuquerque is a Brazilian artist who works and lives in Lisbon, where her new studio is located, near the historic Ajuda Palace. She studied Art: History, Criticism and Curatorship at PUC/SP, in addition to art courses at the Art League in Alexandria (USA), Gage Academy of Art in Seattle (USA), and Ar.CO in Lisbon, among others. 

Her research focuses on recurrent landscapes and developments beyond the historical academic tradition of this genre. Each place she has called home has added new layers of meaning and inquiry to her artistic practice, which reflects, above all, on the role of women, mothers, and artist within a globalized world that constantly challenges us.
