Born in Gloucester, Nina Casson McGarva grew up in rural central France surrounded by a family of creatives & makers.

Casson McGarva is inspired by the natural world and its details, in fact, her abstract and complex sculptures are informed by the organic forms that surround her. She is fascinated by natural cycles which in her view have similarities to the transformative process that glass go through in her creations; from hot and malleable to cold and still.

McGarva trained at the Ecole Nationale du Verre Jean Monnet and at the Glass and Ceramics Workshop on Bornholm where she started to use other glass techniques such as casting, fusing. Casson McGarva has shown her work throughout Europe and in the USA.
