As one of the world’s leading art fairs dedicated to photography, photo basel is thrilled to announce our first ever exhibition during Art Miami week in December 2023. We are looking forward to expanding our reach and bringing our unique European style to Miami Beach.
SCOPE Miami Beach 2023 will partner with photo basel to curate a boutique photo sector that will present the best of photo basel’s fine art photography alongside SCOPE’s museum quality curation of emerging art.
As Monopol affirmed, the secret of Photo Basel’s success concerns its attention on the content showcased and the boutique’s atmosphere created, bringing together some of the best works in fine-art photography. Moreover, Forbes stated that Photo Basel has to be attended “to get a sense of what’s trending in the photography world”. Hence, this unmissable event in Switzerland has always gained acclaim from its beginning, achieving great media resonance and ranking in the international scene.
Concerning the works showcased, the themes addressed are various. For instance, during Photo Basel 2023 have been exhibited black and white photographs by WBB Gallery (Zurich), which mainly showed flowers and vegetation. These works were part of Pure Photography, a special exhibition which included 20th century floral masterworks. Otherwise, the Bridge Gallery (Paris) displayed some portraits of African people, comparing the different approaches of Sarfo Emmanuel Annor and Fatoumata Diabaté. While L’Affiche Gallery (Milan) showed unique colorful collages by Alfred Drago Rens and particular prints by Lucretia Moroni, Kahmann Gallery (Amsterdam) exhibited refined photographs.
Hence, the fair includes legendary names, as Sante D’Orazio or Albert Watson, established talents and emerging artists, putting them together to exhibit their creativity and their ability. Additionally, Photo Basel strives to include young and renowned galleries, Swiss and international exhibitors, and artists with contemporary programs and that one with strong historic positions, in order to give to visitors the most complete artistic overview, in the photographic world.
Furthermore, Photo Basel gives the chance to the people in the world of art to connect with each other, enriching the fair’s content and bringing photography closer to the audience. It is a mature fair, with a strong progamme and professional appearance, which aims to grow along the years. Hence, this event is an opportunity for all art lovers that cannot be missed and the next edition will take place from 11th to 16th June 2024, when Basel will be transformed as the capital of the art world for a week.
photo basel/miami at SCOPE Miami Beach opens on Tuesday, December 5th with the Platinum First View and VIP + Press Preview, and will run December 5 - December 10, 2023.
